Assessment is carried out through a variety of methods, from rubrics and surveys to more directed methods of summary, recall, and analysis that assess a student's learning.

Some methods are built into assignments within the course, while others gather data from the outside. Examples of assessment methods:

  • Rubrics are a student learning assessment tool that detail clear and achievable goals that make assessment predictable and standardized.
  • Surveys are an institutional assessment tool that draw a picture of a campus’s development and growth.
